Programs

St. Timothy’s offers a wide range of programs and activities to support “In Mission for Others”.  This includes outreach to our members and well as into the community and beyond.  Some examples are noted below.  Don’t hesitate to ask if you don’t see an area of interest?
  • Fellowship

Fellowship – Fellowship is an important part of the life of a member, especially on Sunday morning.  After worship, we move to Jubilee Hall for coffee, tea, juices and light snacks. The Sunday School children join us for an intergenerational time of socializing.  Our Easter breakfast, held after the 8 am service, is very well attended (usually Jubilee Hall is filled to capacity).  Lenten suppers before the mid-week Lenten services and other potluck meals are also very popular.

  • Worship Services at Nursing and Retirement Homes

Worship Services at Nursing and Retirement Homes - Our Pastor and organist conduct worship services in the various nursing and retirements homes in the area.

  • Community Outreach

Community Outreach – St. Timothy’s members provide both volunteer and financial support to such local organizations as the St. Joseph’s Food Bank, The Grind, and the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul – Pembroke.  Once a year, we host 60-80 less fortunate individuals for a Banquet Table dinner in Jubilee Hall, with the food and serving provided by congregation members.

Further, we offer our facilities to Alcoholics Anonymous and the Dementia Society to help them carry out their programs in the Pembroke area.

  • Christian Education

Christian Education – We offer a wide range of education opportunities and settings.

    • Bible Study – A Bible study group of about 6-8 members meets weekly and is led by a member of the congregation.
    • Adult Study – The Pastor leads sessions on specific topics or themes as identified by members or the broader church.
    • Confirmation – The Pastor meets regularly over a 2 year period for confirmation classes.  The classes run from September to May.
    • Sunday School – We hold weekly Sunday School (Mid-September – Mid-May).
  • Women of Faith

Women of Faith – A community of women which recognizes the authority of Scripture in its understanding of the mission in its affirmation, growth and development of women, and so the expression of faith in action

  • Prayer Quilt Ministry

Prayer Quilt Ministry – Ladies from the Women of Faith and members of St. Timothy’s combine their gift of creativity with the gift of prayer to each hand tied quilt or shawl. The quilt or shawl is blessed during the worship service. Following the service, each member of the congregation has an opportunity to tie a knot and say their own silent prayer of the person in special need. A card is available for them to sign. Following the service, they are presented to the individual by the Pastor.

  • Quilting

Quilting – An ecumenical group of ladies who quilt to support broader causes.

  • Shuffleboard

Shuffleboard - We have an active retiree group who play once a week in the winter for fun and fellowship.

  • Communities in Bloom

Communities in Bloom - St. Timothy's takes pride in its properties, including numerous flower beds.  We regularly have received a Five Bloom award (the highest possible) or commendation from the City of Pembroke.
